Plat- form" program of which QUINCYHOW was modcrator, Formor Senator D, WORTH CLARE likewise appeared on the program and took tho opposing vicw on LATTI- MCRE's stand relative to China, LATTINORE appearcd on a G38 radio program in New York on May 5, 19493, being opposed in his viows on China by B2UNQ-SH4AY, who for 15 years was © news- paper editor in China, Tho discussion contored around LATTINOCRE!s recent book ‘The Situation in Asia", Cn Hay 9, 1949, LADTINORS again appeared on a radio brondenst in Washington, D, 6,, on the FAncrican Forum of the Air" progran, being opposcd in his vicws on China by Senator HOMER FERGUSON, On April 27, 1949, according to 7-11, LATTINCRE inforned ROGIAT ALLISON, USC program director in New York, that he would like to appear on the "Peoples! Platform" program on May 2 but refused to mppear on tho progran with ALZ2DD- COBURG (phonetic), whom LATTINORS stnted wes not an expert on the Far Bast, “nnd that COBURG was a totnlly irresponsible person, both personally and by position, LATTIMORS informed ALLISON further that COBURG clains China 4s being given to the Communists by default cond that he, LATTIMORE, docsn't mind if tho other person is violently opposed to his views, but that he would not nppoar on the samo program with COBURG, ALLISCN told LATTITM025 that he would try to got somo other person to oppose hin, profcrably some Senntor or Fepresontative, .
