You will find Cady's name mentioned in the file on
iackie Thompson, where he is described as one of the menbers of the
= ang and well kmown as a bank robber of Oxlshoma, ;
particular value in this case has been 411 along placing
us in a position to get the information we did: also, he will be
+ MiB
valuable in the trial of tha cases in assisting to select the jurors, aT;
for, if he don't know himself as to who will make a good furor, he 7
knows someons reliable to refer us to that does, I find that this
is very necessary information in the state of .Oklahoma, for there are
so many that are umreliable that you can't tell “DEE wot you are
getting into the camp of the crooks in going. to parties for infor-

mation. I know that your appropriation is very ~mach taxed and, <:2
course, I sm doin thing I can to relieve it and I will dis-
pense with Quees:.-::-.. efter April lst. However, I think
I could use urther to an advantage,
In further reference tc Special agent PF. K. Hickey, |
will say that I can ba able, I think, in the next ten days to relieve. j
this Agent and will have him returned to his headquarters, Yensas Sitys |
ard will advise you.
I feél that tnére is no doubt but that Ernest Burkhart
will be bound over without bond at his preliminary hearing set for
April lst. As a matter of fact, I have heard that nae is going to
waive & hearing and subnit to being held without bond. Arrangements
‘are being broughtebout that I think will be successful in using
Burxhart as a witness at the trial of Hale and Ramsey. He really is
Willing and wants to testify, but, of course, it is 4a difficult task
to bring himself about so that he can do it, especially when Hale's
lawyers and Hele are working upon him. Things, however, are chansing
rapidly since Hale and Ramsey have been held without bond ang Su cart,
so I understand, is going to get him another lawyer and has made over-
tures to the vrosecution, However, before any advances are to be made
o him by the prosecution, he will hay ve to get down in writing and
nave a definite understanding. I think this will be brought about
soon.
In reference to the witness Matt Villiams, will state
that, as i have advised you telegrapnically,’ this man left Denver,
Coforado, wherg he was placed with his sister by Agent surger and
Ww to report to the Denver office, and appeared up at Pawhuswe. as f
t Judt why he made this move, I have not yet been advised. ‘hire ;
