office and provided the following information:
He knows and has known_him for several
years. The basis of the association is that belongs to
a paramilitary group loosely known as "OPFOR" which is a
military acronym for "Opposing Force" or "Opposition Force".
This group consist of approximately forty individuals and is led
by a retired Army captain who is a VietNam veteran. This group
normally "plays" the part of Russian soldiers during training
periods with the Michigan National Guard and/or the U.S. Army
Reserve.

and stated that there was something strange about him but could
not be specific. He also stated that | was intelligent
and that he never made any racial or ethnic comments of a
negative nature to him or to any of his associates. He further
advised that the Michigan National Guard no longer uses this
group as its "OPFOR" after it was learned that some of the
members were only 16 or 17 years old and many of the older
members had never been in the military. Concern was heightened
when it was learned that these individuals were in possession of
pyrotechnical equipment as well as semi automatic weapons of the
type used by the Eastern Bloc countries. pointed out
that these weapons were all legal in nature but it was felt that
the best interest of the Michigan National Guard was not being
served by using this group.
also stated that most of the members of the
"OPFOR" group are well respected individuals who have
responsible jobs and that his feelings about[___] should not
reflect negatively on the other members.
[stated that he believed that [___]was in
the Army Reserve in Livonia, Michigan but did not have any
contact with Army Intelligence as he claimed. He also
questioned as to why > Jai not remain in the Reserve but
stated that he did not have any reason to believe that he left
for negative reason.
advised that he would obtain the name and
telephone number of the captain in charge of the "OPFOR" group
and make that name available to the Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI)
