TO OPTIONAL FORM NO. 10 JULY 1973 EDITION GSA FPMR (41 CFR? 101-14.6 UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Memorandum FROM SUBJECT: “ater “nitial -c STRIPPED 15 SC10-T50 SAC, WFO (62-10791) (C) DATE: 9/3/75 a DEMONSTRATION SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN, AT THE ELLIPSE AND THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, WASHINGTON, D.C. AUGUST 26, 1975. MISCELLANEOUS - INFORMATION CONCERNING. Re WFO nitel to the Bureau dated 8/12/75. Referenced WFO nitel advised that the National Organization of Women (NOW) had made application with the National Capital Parks to hold a rally at the Ellipse and then conduct a candlelight march to the U.S. Department of Justice, both on August 26, 1975 during the hours of 7230PM until 10:00PM. On August 27, 1975,.0fficer[S—=*«dz‘CSGSSV Park Police, WDC advised that the group of abaut.50 members of NOW gathered at the Ellipse at approximately 7:30PM b6 b7C b6 b7C on 8/26/75. The group departed the Ellipse on their candlelight march to the Department of Justice at approximately 8:00PM arriving at the Justice Department at 8:30PM. The group remained at Justice Department until 9:30PM at which time they marched back to the Ellipse for dispersal. There were no incidents or arrests, U.S, Park Police, U.S. Secret Service, Metropolitan Police Department and Federal Protective Service dognizant. WFO advised the Bureau that no coverage was to be provided. In view of the above, it is recommended that this matter be placed'in a closed st ROY LO wantin NRE
