The object is to discredit NAACP leadorship, local and national; to toar the Association apart through suspicion and strife; to teke it over, if not obviously, then deviously, so as to control its elcctions, mectings, speakers, program, policy conventions, resolutions, and other putlic statements. "Back in the early thirties the NAACP was on the recciving end of some of the fancicst name-calling, and the most vicious, truthedefying misrcprescntation and slander that has appearcd in print, The campaign was carried on openly by the Communist party and its various faithful, echoing groups.
