March 11, 194.9 advised that MURIEL RUKEYSE “Rk ig one of the signers
of a petition which was sent to Harry S. Truman and Attorney
General Tom Clark and which petition reads as follows:
“We, the undersigned, subscribe to this statement
‘of the Executive Committees of the New York Council of Arts,
Seiences and Professions and call upon President Truman and
Attorney General Tom Clark to withdraw the | indictments against
the twelve leaders of the Communist Party.'
