organisation and leadership of the NSTA in the Calumet Area:
"Gary: Temple #22 - Grand Sheik, Sister M./TIGGS - EL 2160
Broadway Street
Menbership: Meetings attended by eight to ten individuals and
are presided over by C,-BARKEEBKY; early in 1943 a mexbership
drive was in progress.
Subversion: Members claim to be of Moroccan deacent,
subversive activities have been reported.

BEETHA ON EL (colored) 2150 Adams Street, Gary, employed at the
Gary Works, as a blast furnace laborer, recently appeared at the plant
in an intoxicated condition and loudly declared her views on the racial
question and negro discrimination. He further stated that BERTHA
ANDERSON EL was born October 10, 1910, in Hernando, Mississippi, and is
presently living with a MAMIE ‘BLACKWELL. She vas formerly employed by
Mrs, GEORGE YUREN, 340 Tyler Street. References giver by her were
JOHN BEY,2226 Dunber, and Mrs, BORDUS, 2136 Adams Street, Gary, Indiana.
