It was learned that the head of the organisation is known as
“Colonel” C. Kirkman Bey, Supreme Grand Advisor and Moderator, whe maintains
the national headquarters at 1104 Sedgwick Avenue, Chicago, Tllimcis. ‘The
headquarters of the organisation publishes a ainmeozranbed pamphlet known ag
the “Moorish Voice” which appears to be issued monthly and is #old for 104,
It seexzs to be concerned with the social activities of the various branches
and the sale of devices ani trappings of the organisation.
Investigation has disclosed that the Moorish Temple of Seience
of America was incorporated under the "Not For Profit Act" of the state
of Tllinois on Nowenber 23, 1926. A Gertificate was filed with the etate
of Illinois on Kay 22, 1928, changing the nase to the icerish Science
Tancle of america. The organisation was imcornorated in the stata af
Indiana on March 17, 1930, for the expressed purpose of tesching the Koran,
to establish the Mohaanedan faith in America and to eonform to that fai th
by annexing the nases of Ali, Fl and Bey. It was also inoorporated in the
estate of Kew York with the principal office at 44 Jefferson Avenus, Brooklyn
and attempted to domesticate in the state of Virginis but was there refused
peruission on the ground that the state constitution prohibits the incorpor-
ation of a religious denomination previously incorporated ander the laws of

The Moorish Science Temple of America also maintains @ colony near
Prince George, Virginia, known as the Bat.on. ome Of the Moorish Science
Tesple of America. the local leader Bey, ¢lains over one million
meabers in the organisation and has t these members support
the colony whith in turn printe the "Mooriah Voice" and asnufactures various
Gevices for the use of the organisation. It appears that the inhabitants of
the home coms from various branches of the Moorish Science Temple, atilisin,;
