U. S. Department of Agriculture, whereby the U. S. Government
would share the cost of the dam in exchange for certain e011
conservation practices,
me was next at the site on July 15, 1964, when
he was asked by prices to visit the area to give advice.—
On this occasion found that the dam was almost com
pleted and was perepe a pencred yards further north down the
creek than where it had been planned while he was previously in
the area, On +h S$24%, ke found that the dam was about 12
feet high and walked along the top of the dam and saw
the drain pipe in the old cresk bed which was too short and was
almost even with the dam surface, At this time a Mr, PETTIS was
operating a bulldozer pusks ing dirt up the sides of the dam.
On July 17, 1964, SEM ncaitn drove by the dan,
looked again at the drain pipe, and then drove to the BURRAGE
Garage, where he advised RAGE to extend the pipe several feet
inside the lake, ven 26 at the dam on July 17, 1964, a ay
was there operating a bulldozer and the surface of AC.
