At 3:20 p.m., HUNTER MOREY , Legal Coordinator, Council of
Federated Organizations (COFO),. Jackson, Mississippi, telephonically
advised the Meridian, Mississippi, Resident Agency that he desired
to make an official request for an investigation to locate JAMES CHANEY
MICHAEL SCHWERNER and ANDREW GOODMAN and that his request was the
result of his receipt of conflicting stories concerning the time the
three individuals -had been released from the Neshoba County Jail
at Philadelphia, Mississippi, and because of the church burning near
Philadelphia, Mississippi, he feels the three boys were in physical
danger.
