were advised that MARLENEYDIETRICH, film-actress wife of subject, - coat

erence to STEBER's obtaining his citizenship. I am advising you of more
recent intercesaion on the part of MARLENE DIETRICH for your information. a)
On June 23, 1943, MARLENE DIETRICH telephonically contacted 0
Special Agent of this office, who has previously inter-
viewed her on several occasions, and requested an opportunity to talk wi a

zation authorities had advised her and her husband that his petition for:
citizenship had been refused. Upon being advised of this fact by letter,

tion and Naturalization Office in Philadelphia. It was her understanding -
that it. was the result of information developed in New-York City by the _
immigration and Naturalization Service with respect to SIEBER's position -
in the Croydon Hotel that caused the Los Angeles office to take the action
