On Jamary 5, 1942, agent interviewed VON STERNBERG at length in the
~ Bureau office with reference particularly to VOLLIOELLER. He mentioned that in
z the sumer of 1939 VOLLICELLER, who is a writer of considerable repute, tried
£ to get MARLENE DIETRICH to meet representatives of the German movie companies
i in Paris to discuss possible contracts for the making of pictures in German.
But DIETRICH, VON STERNBERG stated, was furious at such overtures and would
have nothing mre to do, with him because she wanted to have no connection with
anything German.
VON STERNBERG is also mentioned in report of the writer dated at Los
\ eechenen February 14, 1942, in the case entitled:
