The source advised that Mamedov believed the visas were not for any specified period of time and he % was certain that wher the Bowers arrived in the Soviet oy Union they could extend the visas for as long a time as pl is necessary. Mamedov suggested that the Bowers get in oo touch with representatives of Voks and the Writers Union riz in the Soviet Union and these individuals would go out | of their way to help the Bowers. The source said that | Mrs. Bowers indicated that they would travel by ship and would leave on August 16, 1957. Mrs. Bowers said Strasburg was an important individual in the New York theatre world and she strongly suggested that Mamedov and his wife attend the affair.
