Subject was introduced as HALCOLM X and apoveared on the show for about 20 minutes. Important parts about this interview ave as follows: When asked why he broke away from the NOI, MALCOLM said tnat ne did break away from the NOI but tnat the reasons for breaking away would serve no purpose on this show. He said he considered himself a true Iuslim who believed in brotherhood of all people where as the iJOI Muslims do not believe in brotherhood of anyone but Negroes, When asked why he preaches that Negroes Should take arms to protect themselves, MALCOLM said that just because he believes in brotherhood does not mean that he should not protect himself, He said that if the Government and the FBI cannot protect Negroes in a specific area that Negvoes should organize and have rifles to protect them- Sselives., He said that he does not want the Negro to break any law but that vigilante groups are being organized at the present time in NY to protect themselves in thetr neighborhood and that these vigilante groups de not seem to have any trouble with the local police, and therefore he can not sce any rezson why Nesroes themselves cannot orranize to protect themselves.
