NY 105-8999 The February 18, 1963, edition of the "Democrat and Chronicle” conteined an article which reflected that the Rochester Branch of the Netional Association for the Advancemart of Colored People (NAACP), Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), Monroe County, Non-Partisan League and the Rochester Civil Rights League, the latter a reactivated organization to coordinate local civil rights organisations, held a meeting on February 17, 1963, in Rochester and calied for a united front ection to demand civil riguts for Rochester Negroes, There were several speakers at this reeting including subject, who was not e scheduled speaker, and who charged the police with breaking into a religous meeting. fiso during his speech subject criticized Negro factions who were “too afraid’ to unite, and stated that you do not get “enything bi being polite”.
