DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS UNITED STATES AIR FORCE WASHINGTON 6 February 1948 SUBJECT: Reporting of Information on "Plying Discs" Commanding General, Air Defense Command Commanding General, Tactical Air Command Commanding General, Air Training Comman Commanding General, Air University / i Commanding General, Alaskan Air C0 : Ur. Commanding General, Air Transport Com Commanding General, Air Materiel Comm ew" } 1. Any information pertaining to the sighti of so-called flying discs, which is secured by or comes to the attention of A¥r Force installations withe in the United States and Alaska, will be forwarded direct to the Commanding General, Air Materiel Command, Wricht=Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, Attention: TSDIN, uk @) t Commanding General, Strategic Air Command vf \) 2. Such reports will be sent direct, and not through ordinary channels, but copies of all such information may be supplied the Command Headquarters of the installetion concerned. 3. In observing the above procedure for reporting information on flying dise sightines, every effort will be made to include the following itens: a Location and time of sighting be Weather at the time Gc. Names, occupations and addresses of witnesses a Photographs of objects, if available @. Sketches of object's configuration ff. Object sighted: Number (5) Speed (9) Sound Shape (6) Heading (10) Exhaust trail or not Size (7) Maneuverability Color (8) Altitude @ General Remarks 4. A covy of all reports or summaries of informatien sent to Air Materiel Command in accordance with the ebove provisions will be forwarded at the game time to this Headquarters, Attention: Director of intelligence. 5. Headquarters, Air Materiel Command is authorized direct contact with installations of the addresses of this letter in connection with the development of information on flying discs. RESTRICTED
