HARACTER: INTERSTATE TRANSPORTATION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Synopsis:
Between the hours of 7:00 P.M., 2/14/74 and 12:30 A.M. 2/15/74,
jewelry belonging to entertainer LEE LIBERACE was stolen from
the Governor's Suite, Statler Hilton Hotel, Dallas, Texas.
Investigation determined that LIBERACE kept his jewelry ina
metal aluminum suitcase with a combination lock which only he

interviewed at the Waldorf Astoria Towers, New York City, New
York, and identified a tiffany pocket watch from photographs
exhibited to him which was stolen from him at the Statler
Hilton Hotel, Dallas, Texas, the night of 2/14/74,

DETAILS:
Investigation was predicated upon receipt of information
Cbnich was received from —— Dallas, Texas,
Police Department, who advised on February 15, 1974, that the
Suite in the Statler Hilton Hotel where the well-known night club
and television entertainer LEE LIBERACE was staying had been
* burglarized. Detect ive further advised that investigation
[ determined that no apparent forced entry had been used to gain
entrance to LIBERACE's suite or to the metal aluminum suitcase
containing a combination lock, where LIBERACE kept his jewelry.
He stated that a latent fingerprint and partial palm print was
developed on the aluminum suitcase and alson on an ash tray,
however, no elimination prints were taken. LIBERACRE estimated
his loss of jewelry at $75,000.
