BATTISTI returned a directed verdict of acquittal of charges against all eight subjects - JAMES DANIEL MC GEE, MATHEW JUNIOR MC MANUS, BARRY WILLIAM MORRIS, WILLIAM EARL PERKINS, JAMES EDWARD PIERCE, LAWRENCE ANTHONY SHAFER, LEON HERBERT SMITH, and RALPH WILLIAM ZOLLER. The subjects had been charged with violations of Title 18, Sections 2 and 242, U.S. Code, -P- DETAILS: AT CLEVELAND, OHIO: «= &T Criminal Section, Civil Rights Division, U.S. Department of Justice (CRD, USDJ) who was in charge of the prosecution of this case in U.S. District Court, Cleveland, Ohio, advised that on that date Chief Judge FRANK J. BATTISTI, at the conclusion of the presentation of the Government's case, returned a directed verdict of acquittal of all charges against all eight subjects in this case.
