KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI.
FEERUARY 28, 1934.
RE: VERNON c. Fazizr (DECEASED) ET AL
Director,
Division of Investigation, CONSPIRACY TO DELIVER FEDERAL
- PRISONER
U. S&S. Department of Justice,
Washington, D. C.
Dear Sir;
Kindly refer to Division letter dated February 21, 1934 with
which were tranamitted one bullet and cartridge each from Thompson
gub-machine guna Nos. 1655 and 2232, these guns having been seized by
the Police after the arrest of Basil Banghart and Jeane Costner, Balti-
more, Maryland.
There is trananitted herewith one photograph of the cartridge
ease showing the breach and pin impression of the bullet fired from
Thompson sub-machine gun bearing serial No. 1655, also a similar photo-
ereaph of the cartridge fired from Thompson sub-machine gun No. 2232.
These photographs were furnished by Merle A. Gill, Forensic Ballistician
here, who hae made a comparison between the cartridges and bullets in
question with the evidence bullets obtained in the Union Station Plaza
oase here. Mr. Gill has rendered a report under date of Pebruary 28, ;
1034, advising that a comparison of the above mentioned bullets in- _
dicates that there is no connection batween those obtained from the
guns at Baltimore, Maryland anf those used in the Union Station Plaza
massacre.
~ Very truly yours,
