Please be atvised that I do mot recall dte-—
tinetly as to whether or act the St. Peul Police Departnent was
f{nformed by mo to the effect thet Rash‘ea priate vere found on a
beer bottle. You will reeall that the latent prints which have
veen identified as Frank Hash's on said beer bottle vere gaunt tted
to She Division by the St. Peul Police Department, and under date

of June 25, 1955, you sent we a Western Union telegram reading, co
sonnection vith kidnaping identified through single -
} “Latent fingerprint subaitted by St Paul Police is
fingerprint file ee right thumb srint ef Frank Baeh* fe
On the etrength of thie telegram, I an evfre I 41if not notify the
St. Paul Polies Departernt. J am under the imoression, hovevor,
that I feceived a telephone eall from the Division on the enn
date, informing us of the same facts, and if I am Kot mistaken, |
I wes instructed to afvine the St. Paul Police Departaent of this
“fact ané I find that two telephone salls wre mie bvetucen the
St. Paul office ani the Division on the BMird day of June, 195.
At any rate, I ean enfcly state thet unless 7 had specific in-
structions from the Division to inform the St. Paul Police De-
pertuent of the identification of the fingerprint in question,
thet they were not notified by us, but I am almost certain that
telephonic instructions were to the effect to notify the St. reul
Police of the identification.
