Ye and found theraitn 2 cashier's enetk in the amount of $200,950 drawn on a Springfield, Yll, benk, nere of bank unknozn, and also a gift for Dick's mther, end «» note {mMicating that said check wes for her; that thereupon he mailed said check to Mrs, Galateas in California but could not recall her address, ~ Dur ing this interview, re Cady steted that one clit “tord McKaiz, @ brother-in-lew,‘ lived in Bell River, Ont.; thet Walter MeFadden, brother-in-law, lived to Dresden, onte; thst it was his understanding that Lew Connors drove Mrs. Galatas and Nrs, MeFeicen to the train at the time they came to Canisteo, Ne Yea in 1933, - - Mre Cacy also stated that Lick Galatas hed two cousins, namely, Jules and Sidney Galatas, who control the liguor, business. in hiontgomery, alebare, and operated stills in close proximity thereto, which stills ere located in an isolated ares, and, as he understands, have from time to time been used asa *hide-oyt” elthough he has BO positive knowlecéce of same, . ; - * ; _ . During the entire interview, a Cady continuously ~ expressed his willingness to cooperate in locating Dick Galetas, However, when asked any direct questions, he became very evasive and hed convenient lapses of memory, However, he indiceted that due to the Irmigration lews, it was necessary for Mrs. NeFadden to return to Sensda and that it was his intention to drive her to Dresden, Ont., to Walter LicFaddents home, during the letter pert of February, at which time he would meke inquiry of his wife's people in Ceanaca to ascertain whether or not they have received eny word from Dick's wife or fram Dick; thet be would also mke discreet inquiry while in Detroit, wiere he inten#ed to rereain for anproximately e week's tire, end thst, if interviewed at a leter date, he would gladly furnish the writer with eli.the informetion which he posseseed and, in conclusion, stated that -° .° he could think of no particuler person with whom Dick or his wife migt he commniceting at the present time, Yr.
