Mr. Sanford -Bates, Director of the Bureau of
Prisons, telephoned. He stated he had received a -
i ’ telegram from a man by the name of Roy J.fAshley, who
is in jail in Beaumont, Texas, in which he indicated
that if sent to New Orleans he would furnish informa-. -
tion concerning the Kansas City Massacre. Mr. Bates” © ~
suggested that he vould move him to New Orleans and I -
