at the office of the New Jersey Bell Telephone Compeny,
BKewerk, H.J. the legal department furnished e@ photostetic copy of the
application for service. It was learned that the Silverman's telephone
at the ebove addresa is Orange 23-0910, ia non-public, end listed in ~
the name of A. Silvers. The information secured from the legal depart~~
Eent was second hand; thet ie, it was obtained from a report made by.
the branch office at East Orange, H.J. to the legal department of the —
telephone company. Under the heading Credit Information wes originally
written "4. & PF. Trucking Company, 36th Street, New York City, pert —
owner.” He listed as hie other address, supposed to be his business
eddress, Lefcourt Building, Newerk. He aleo geve the name of Kessler
& Keesler, attorneys, who ere at 9 Clinton Avenue, Hewerk. As o refer-
ence he gave Essex 53-0830, which telephone number ie listed in the naze .
of one Shaw, @1? Chancellor Avenue, Newerk. The application was made
on October 15, 1953 and the telephone was put in on October 1éth.
From the report made to the legal department it would appear that
the Orange branch office of the telephone compeny had some trouble
eetting setisfectory references and apparently learned that there was
no euch trucking company on Séth Street and telephoned the office of .
Kessler & Kessler and they advised Silvers was a part owner of the
Champion Trucking Company, 158 West Séth Street, New York City. This
information wes written on the card with the name A. & P. stricken ont
and the word “Champion® inserted in lieu thereof. Also 158 Weat was
placed in front of 36th Street. It will be necessery to intervier
the manager of the Orange branch and also the person who took the
application to secure further evidence along this line.
From the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company wes -
secured a list showing 911 toll ealls made from Silverman's selephone
and this list follows; .
