Purvis advised me by telephone today that he has been informed by Mrs. Rogers, stenographer in the Chicago Office, who vas present at the time, that at least fifteen seconds passed before the Agents left the apertment efter receiving word that Verne Miller had left his apartment, and that Agent Guinane, instead of pursuing “Willer, turned the other ray and took VilGibson into custody. Mr. Purvis advised that Agent Notesteen's statement has just been received at the Chicago Office. “ir. Purvis also stated that Agent Nerman, whom he retes very highly, was rith the squed, but wasn't used in this connection. I instructed dr.
