I instructed Mr. Dunn to get the name of the informant, and have
SAC Hanni at St. Paul see what he can find out about this man. I stated
that I had no objection to Dresser's proceeding to St. Paul and contacting
_, Hanni upon his arrival there, providing of course Dresser was considered Pde
entirely reliable. In this event, I stated, it would be satisfactory to haves!" “(n""
Dresser contact the informant, after telking with Mr. Hanni. Mr. Dunn stated’ *-_)
he would advise further in the event Dresser would not provide him with _ + oat
the name of the infornant. Mr. Dunn stated that Dresser told his Agent in ~
Charge, Mr. Forney, last night that he could not disclose the naze of his
informant as the matter might te "bungled" in some way. I stated I wanted
od the name of th: “inneapolis informant that it might be checked rith the name
of a men in St. Paul who has been claiming the ability to solve most of the
larger cutstanding cases, and if it is not this mme individual I rould be
satisfied to have Prohibition Agent Dresser proceed to Minneapolis as set
forth above. I stated re would be willing to pay for definite information
as to the whereabouts of Verne Millef, but that results had to be produced ;
before any payment would be made. ;
Mr. Dunn stated as soon as he has talked vith Dresser he will send
_ & telegram to the Division, or call by telephone, if he thinks that is neces-
sery.
