Page 3 = Mr. Bankus advised that Bailey delighted in the eport of baseball and ie fond of a game of caris. However, he stated he ' @oes not gamble to any extent; that he ie very liberal with his family, relatives and friends and ie loyal to them. Bailey, in turn, is said to expect the same traitea in others, and it is said that he dislikes an imposter or anyone possessed of egotian. Bailey hee always wanted to dominate social gatherings, according to Mr. Bankus, but is said to be not overbearing. He is said to be agreeable and entertaining, although cunning and secretive. — Although Bailey is a large man, Mr. Bankus etated he ie cowardly end of a peaceful disposition. He ie asid, however, to be deliber- ete in his actions and would shoot if he had the advantage over hia adversary. Lr. Bankus said thet it was “easy money” that made Bailey resort to bootlegging and a eriminal career. The name of Bailey's father could not be secured through the aources avallable. ‘ It will be noted there is an arrest shown at Karyville, Miseouri, according to Mr. Bankus, during the year 1919, which - Goes not appear on the criminal record of Halley. At thise tine a& letter is being directed to the Sheriff at Maryville for the purpose of securing whatever record may be found at that place. A copy of this letter is being forwarded to the Chieago Office with a request thet all possible family history of Bailey be secured at Richmond, Illinois.
