T advise. thet I knew notnaing concerning it. <a 5 2 = oS ) ba) of *! _ I immedilately inquired of the Detroit Office and was advised that their infornationws that there was no kidnaping and that Mr. Brooks has returned to his home. 4 While talking to Detroit, Special Agent in Charge Keith steted & thet they hed covered the Vernd’Miller metter about as thoroughly as they ~* knew how at Detroit and were certain thet Miller, himself, had not been at the hotel where tne long distance call from Vikililler was received, end because the cell was a station to station call the clerk at the hotel had not identified it as a long distence call and therefore does not know to which of the guests it was directed. As a matter of fact, there are over 150 guests, mostly made up of professional people, show girls, gamblers, race horse people, et cetera. He stated that they had covered the Chicago end, Agent Keeting at Chicago calling this morning, and they heave supervision over the telephone going out of Vi Miller's and they also have Agents in an 4 apartment across the hall. At Detroit arrangements have been made et the hotel to notify itr. larson if any similar long distence calls are received. | fgent Keiti: states that he is proceeding to Cincinnati this afternoon and will interview applicants there tomorrow, will interview applicants at Pittsburgh on Thursdsey, and will report to Washington Friday morning.
