After viewing Kelly at Oklahoma City, I hastily perused the files of the Oklahoma City office, in connection with this matter, and also tho Ureckel kldneping case, and ascertained there Kelly is reported to have registered at the Biltrore Hotel at Oklahoma City on June 19, 1933, tw days after the shootim at Kansas City, Missouri. Zelly registered under an alias, and-registered from Kensas City. This my mt be important, hovever, I submitted this informtion fran Okisham City to the Kansas City office, and suggest- ed they make further check at Eansas City regarding Kelly, and while at the Kansas City office I suggested to S.4.C. Conroy, and to Special Agent Trainor, who is thoroughly conversant with the Tensas City shooting case, that further investigation be made at Kansas City, and that all possible leads be again covered, and a good photograph of Kelly be shom to all individuals there, with a view of possibly placing Eelly as visiting with Verne Miller, and associating with him at Eanses City, ant with e view of possibly placing Kelly at Kansas City on or ebout the day of the shooting, which office is being furrishad a copy of this letter, and will, no doubt, tuvestigate thie angle, and eutmit a report in die course. ZI believe it advimable that after Katherine Kelly has been incarcerated for a ahort period of time, that she be interviewed, and closely interrogated with respect to all informtion she might have with regard to the Kansas City shooting. While she apparently is quite adamant at the present tim, m doubt, if she is interrogated properly after she ns calmed dom, sane information of value might be obtained, I also proceeded to Leavenworth, Kansas, in harmony with your instructions, and there viewed Bailey end Bates, but I am ab- solutely positive that neither of these two charactera is the individual whom I saw at Kemsas City. There is only thia to be considered in my visit to Leavenworth. When I was introduced to Bailey by the Warden, Bailey remarked that he thought he had seen me eamerhare. Deen ~ R. E.
