MEMORANDUM FOR THE — a & SEE
With reference to the attached memorandum of Agent Mages--
covering the leads which heve developed the possible location of Lote oe
Galatas and others, wanted in connection with the Kansas City eee
shooting, at Tybee Beach, Savannah, Georgia, I desire to sarin 7

contacted Agent Alt and again talked to him to ascertain something |

extent of the identification made by Agent Kingman. Agent Alt -
etated that Kingman felt rather certain that Galatas was there
and possibly one other, namely, Verne Miller; thet while it might
have been possible for him to cause the arrestiof the man he
suspected to be Galatas yesterday, he hesitated toe do that because
he learned that there was quite a group of these men staying in
Savannah and playing golf each day at Tybee Beach. He stated that
he could trust no police officer of the Savannah Police force, but
that Agent Kingman did have with hin one county officer in whos - Top

Savannah Hotel is the mecca for this very gang and it would be. t a
