eta at MS, won “fe Floyd drove him to Ven Buren, Arkaneas and gave him $40.00 for him to reach his home at Dyersburg, Tenn, He stated thet while at Dyersburg he made the rererk thet he had been to Floydts cave and it got to the Sheriff there; that the Sheriff took him to Inspector Griffin of the Memphis Police Department who in turn got in touch with the Burns Detective Agency. He stated before he left Floyd the latter told him that if he wanted to join up with him to get in touch with him through his brother E. %. Floyd who lives at Sellisaw. E. W. is about twenty-two years of age, Hoore further stated timt he agreed with the Burns Detective Agency to help cepture Floyd and in Novenber of 1932 he met A. B. Cooper, | Burns Detective Agent, from Oklahoma City and R. E. Delaney of Perry, Okia., who is supposed to be working for the Government, at Ft. Smith. They arranged to raid Floyd's cave and obtained the aid of two officers by the names of Kerr end Catrow, Deputy Sheriffs from Oklahoma City, Sheriff Stormant and four of his men from Okmulgee, Okla. and he was to take tham to the cave; that he took them to the iron bridge above mentioned where Stormant backed out and the reid fell through. He atated Cooper and Delaney then suggested he make contact with Floyd and to become one of hie gang, keeping in touch with them, Pureuant to this arrangement he went to Menmphis, Tenn., end wrote a letter to E. W. Floyd, addresaing it to Sallisaw, atating that he was “hot* ond wanted to get in touch with Charley; that he received a letter from E. W. Floyd requesting bim to met him at the Marion Rooms, Ft. Smith; that he met E.W. at Ft. Smith as erranged and £.W. took him to the heme of Lee Henty, which is located ebout siz or seven miles North and East of Sallisaw; that E.7. introduced Hanty as his uncle, hoore stated that Floyd was at Hanty’s plece sick with the flu and in bed; that Edgar founbdar waa there guarding Floyd. ‘This wes around the first of January of Moore stated that Floyd sent him and E.W. Floyd to his brother Walt Fioyd at Little, OkJahoma, to the best of his recollection, where E.W. delivered 6 package, contents not known; that before they left, Floyd told E.W. to “tell that Constable to hurry up and get here, if he knows whats good for him”. Moore does not mor the identity or location of thie consteble, After they returned to Hentyts home, Moore ateted, he met George Cheek, former sheriff of Sallisaw, at Hanty's home; that Cheek went away and returned with a Mr. McDonald, cashier of the bank at Sallisaw, apparently for the purpose of fdentifying Moore who they thought waa a man they saw at Selli- saw sometime before. Moore stated he had talked with McDonald about the time he was negotieting to conduct the officere to Floyd's cave above mentioned, but he had painted his face end made some changes to conceal his identity. He etated when icDonald came to the house Cheek asked him where he had seen Moore - and eDonald atated he had never seen him before; thet Ployd, thereupon, told ‘ Cheek thet he was sure he was mistaken ae Moore head celled with him and wes 0.K.
