faformants who have worked in the vicinity of 47th Street and Seventh
avenues for a pumber of years and an effort wes made to obtain all
possible information which would lead to the location of the present
residence of Mra. Betty Buchalter in view of the fact that it was
thought that Mra. Buchalter would be in eormmnication with or living

On dugust 15, 1933 agent o*Lesry and the writer, through
the confidential informant of agent O'Leary, contacted manager J. H.
McCarthy of the Hotel Americs, 47th Street betweer Sixth and Seventh
Avenues, in which the Frences Beauty Salon is located end through his
cooperation arrangements were made to enter the Frances Beauty Salon
in order to obtain eny infomation of value whick might be conteined
' £m en appointment book maintained by the salon.
Agents, accompanied by Mr. McCarthy, exemined a amnall
note book written fin pencil, which apparently was the only appointment
book kept at the Frances Beauty Salon. fhe only notation which appeered
in the book which might possibly be concerned with Betty Buchsalter ané
Vivien Allen waa the notation “Vy end B, July 21, 1935 ~ $5.00." A
thorough exzaminetion of the book failed to indicate any further inform- -
ation concerning the parties sought.
In conneotion with dete furnished by Agent T, H. Tracy
fron Atlantic City, H.J. to the effect thet M. Weiser, a companion of
Louie Buchalter, who wea then registered at the its Carlton Hotel, is
a@riving a 1935 Lincoln Seder, bearing 1935S New York registration plates
S-C-8625, it was ascertained that these plates are listed in the name of
one Nethan Spill, 3129 Cropeey Avenue, for use on @ 1935 Lincoln sedan,
motor number Eé-255. ‘This cer was purchesed from the Waterman Motors,
Inc. 640 East Fordham Road, Bronz, New York City. It wea learned thet
the original license plates iseued for use on thie car were §70-4847
Dut that one of these plates wae lost on June 20, 1935, license pletes
3-¢-8625 being iseued in their stead. It was eleo learned thet the
hsndwritings which appear on the two applications for registration
herein appear to be different.
