Reference is mide to the report of Special Agent We Fe trainers dated
at Kanseae City, Miesourl, July 28, 1955.
Qn July £9, 1935, Federal Judge Otis et Kansas city yulea on the habeas
corpus petition to the effect that Mrs, Nash should be held for preliminary
hearings However, her bond was reduced to $2,500.00. On July Sl, 1933, before
‘the United States Commissioner, iirse Nash, Herbert 4llen°Farmer and Mra, Esther
© Farmr appesred and upon motion of the Governmant a continuance wae secured
until august 14, 1933, The bonds were on thie date fized, as follows: Herbert
Alien Farmar, $10,000000; Mra. Esther Farmer, $5,000.00, and Mrae Frances Nash,
$2,5002000¢ None of these bonds were furnisheds

In order to avert the release of any of the individuals in question it
was believed advisable to file state charges of murder against them. Special.
agent Le G. Turrou conferred with First assistant Prosecutor Michael O'Hearn
of Jackson County and after a diacussion of the facts Mr. O'Hearn expressed the
Gesire to inatitute prosecution in State Court against Mrae Nash, Herbert allen
Farmer and Mrse Farmere On hie authorization and based upon authorization by
me, Special Agent We Fe Trainor of this office, on July 31, 1935, filed
complaint before Louls J. Mazuch, Justice of the Peace, charging these three
individuals with murder in the firet degree, alleging the mrder of Special
agent Raymond Je Caffreye The Missourl penal statute does not recognize an
accessory to the act of murder, but fizes the charg against all parties _—
connected witb such an offense as principalse A copy of the complaint ia,
