Louie and wanted the copies in the event the person BOVARD denied _ receiving the communications. From that point, the story of MR. NEWIAN becomes Anyolved and garbled. He stated that GAITH took the letters as they wore | written to the Post Office and registered them, according to his ow etatement. NEWAN aleo claims that he (NEWMAN) wrote the letters aa his stenographer was not at the office when SMITH visited him and consequently there are no sten- ogrephic notes, NEWAAN writing the letters himself.
