O- With reference to the above mtter, the records reflect that the Subjects involved in the past have been eonnected — with certain underworld characters in the Twin Cities, som of. whom are now making their headquarters at what is known as the }"Hollyhocka" , a night clud and roadhouse, located on the outskirts of the City of St. Paul. From this particular place in the past, record of many long distance telephone calls between underworld characters have been found. I am of the opinion that tapping of the telephons wires et thie place will materially assist in this matter and authority to do so is requested. ee For your information, the Signal Corp of the United Statea Army located in the Twin Cities at Fort Snelling will furnish the necessary equipment in the tapping of the wires involved and can be easily dom without interference from any sOurcGes ; , , Very truly yours, bun.
