The June 1, 1919, issue of the "Foreign Gdaerver, 92s"
published in Kew York City, contained remarks quoted Zras the’
"Veek" of London, England, which was described as a privately
circulated and well-informed publication. Thege remarks toy Pee
that the British were bewildered as to why Kennedy was allowed to
remain as United States Ambassador to Great Britain, considering
his record as an “appeaser™ and an “apologist for Chamberlain, *
Tt was siso refiected that Mr, Kennedy had bean informing
Mr. Chanberlain that in reality American opinion--serious
American opinion--so far from being hogtile to Munichisx was
really supporting it and that, therefore, Mr. Chamberlain did ngt
really need to worry about the apparent outbursts of indignation
from the other side, regardless of the quarters fron which they
eame, (This was not further explained.) .
