BQ 89-495 Specific instructions were given regarding RYAN's group. Members were to stay away unless specifically instructed to speak. Members were permitted to answer if questioned, but were warned to be positive in their remarks about Jonestown, since their lives and the lives of their children were hanging on the results.(¥ Once, in an agitated state, JONES made the comment "Somebody ought to shoot RYAN." Again one or two days before RYAN'’s arrival, JONES said that his efforts to thwart RYAN's visit failed and that he was coming, but perhaps his plane would fall from the sky. (2 When RYAN arrived, he was shown around the camp and on the first day was actually given a programmed tour and presentation.
