Chicaro File 68=194 ALM srmb so fhe following investiration was conducted by Special Agents _ ERWIN We ROEMER, President of the Chicago Bar Association and member of the lew firm of Gardner, Carton and Douglas, 33 South Clark Street, Room 1430, Chicago, was interviewed on October 9, 1947, at which time he stated he has in no way ever partici pated in any manner in the parole matter presently under investigation. He stated he was acquainted with only one of the parolees, namely PAUL Db LUCIA, whom he refers to as wee PAUL KICCA. HOEMLE: explained that an accident occurred in an elevator in one, of the downtown buildings on Wabash Avenue in Chicago at which time PAUL RICGA was a ricer. RICCA allegedly experienced some injury in the wos accident and entered a suit against the insurance company that KOEM&R represented. The suit is ‘etill pending. ROEMER went on to explain that this is the only connection he has ever had with RICCA, and ia not ao~ guainted with any of the other parolees other than what he has read in the newspaperse mores : ROMER denied having ever been approachad by anyene relative to s parole matter at any timc. He steted he has no information whatsoever r reparding this parole matter other than what he has read in the local ! ‘ nNeyspaDper Se ‘ ROEMER vas questioned if he was acquainted with an attorney by the name of HUGS from Dallas, Texas.
