"On two days after working hours between 1932 and April, 1937 I savy Carl Elshoff and Oscar Falcetti go into a saloon with four or five of these above mentioned men, I remember that Sowling- green and .ieckelbeck were in this group. This saloon is located on the East sade of Sixth Street, between Jefferson and Tashington Ltreets in Springfield, T1l. JI think it was called Logans Bar, "I remember seei.ig some of these Uk agitators whose names I mentisred, in Blshoff's office, They seemed to be friendly with Elsheff. "IT know nothing about the wage scale troubles between Zlsheff and the Pim. I was satisfied with my wages and I never talked to anyone about petting more money. "I went to some of the Uif. meeting before 1932 and some of the PUA meetings later. I took no interest in the mion busiress, either UL. or PUA. tT did nut know about the miners who were thrown out of the PMA, at the PLA meetiig on the night of lay 11, 1937. I did not know that some miners were thrown out of the wiion at this meeting. "T did not load any coal cars short at anytime. I saw some cars loaded short on IfBy 12, 1937, but I did not know whey they were loaded short. I figured the miners did not have time to load full cars. "T founc out about the strike the next day which was May 13, 1937 when I was told by the men 1 road to work with that there was 4 strike at Mine B. "I helped picket at Mine 3 for about three mouths after the strike started. hI newer signed any petitions in 1937. ° ~ 74 = am |
