Pasquale take ea gun and try to hide it in a box of some
sort by Superintendent Oscar Falcetti's desk. If I ree
member correctly, Falcetti, Bohannon, Pasquale, and Al-
benese were in the room. notified the Sheriff of what Pasquale had
done end after the Sheriff found the gun a search wes made of the other oc}
cupants in the room with the possible exception of Falcetti. It was found
thet Albanese was also carrying & gun, & revolver of some sort. These two
men were arrested on that date for carrying concealed weapons. I do not re-
call thst Falcetti said e single word during el] the time that this was going

ing returning to work, and thet actually did go back on his

ported for work thst morning end I recell that Falecetti came out and told the
men that they would have to be United Mine “iorkers to work ct Mine B, inasmuch
as the compeny hid a contract with the UMW of A. Faloetti gave the explana-
tion thet he hid nothing to do with the hiring of tne men and that he was
simply cirrying out orders. On thet date only ten or twelve fellows went down
to work in the mine, these being the ten or twelve men whe had been expelled

"I also reported te work on the following duy with a number of the
men from Locn] 54, On this date no one went down into the mine and to the
best of my recollection, the Sheriff of Sangznon County was present and re-
guested the ten cr twelve men who went down the previous diy to stay in the
cabin for their own protection.

to work at any time the minagement would put them to work. It was sbout this
time that we received word, more or less in the form of ©, -umor, that the
United Mine “orkers were going to try te put the mine in operetion with in-
ported strike breakers, principrliy from the Penbody Mines down on the Midland
track in Christinn County, which were all corgsnized by the UMW of A. This
picketing continued up until the latter part of November when a Federal in-
junction wis cbtuined by Elshoff enjoining the men from coming on to the
property. I left the mine about the middle of Novemser cnd wis not present
when this in Junction wos served.
