was a lot of talk about this at the time, So far

able to get any better contract than the F.M.A.
"I dont remember any dispute over wages prior to the strike. I felt
the Union officials would see I got what was coming.
"I heard of a meeting being held the day before the strike. I did
not attend it however, and didn't hear of it till May 12, What I heard was
talk up on top. When I went to work May 12, 1937 I had no idea there would
be & Strike. what I hcard was that the men were going on strike because
the Company would not fine some exrelled miners. I felt these men should
have been fircd, but can't spoak for the others. I heard the names of
some, I recomize as being one of them the name of Frank Austin. I dont
remember any thing about any cars being loaded short this day. ~~

"I voted at the first NLRB clection. The vote was by secrect
ballot & as far as I know it was an honest and good clection. T voted
P.M.A., which was the way IJ wanted it and no one forced me to do this.
