"On the day of the strike, we were calicd out, as I remember, about
ten o'clock. I don't know if the men were called out by the P.M.a. or by
the management. I don't remember hearing anything about the cause of the

day. I don't remember hearing any talk about U.M.i/ spies being discharged.
"I dontt remember getting any notice that the mine would be re-

P.M. agreed | by votc, to picket the mine and not aliow any U.H... mon
to Work it. The purpose of the picket linc was to kcep the management
of Mine 2 from using U.M.«. men, and allowing them to take over the jobs
of the P.M.A. mcn. I renember that some of the men who wore in the UU...

quale, Carter, austin, and some others whose names I can't remember. at
the time of the federal injunction, in 1937, I felt, as did most of the
men, that its purpose was to zet us off the mune property. I was on the

"In December of 1937, I saw a notice in the paper that there was to
be .an election held by the labor board. J also heard about the election
from the P.M.ea. On the day of the election, we met in Progressive Hall,
and went over to the election twelve at a time. “he P.!M.u. gave us no
