The men who were there on the sit down were all men who had worked at Mine B before, as far as I know. wT recall voting at an election for the unions in the winter of 1937. As far as I know that was a fair election. No one told me how to vote, or tried to influence my vote in any way. As far as I know everyone had a chance to vote as they wanted to at that election. *I do not recall exactly when I went to work at the Jefferson mine. a a eel was working out there, and he got me a job. I was a member of the UMW and did not try to do any organizing or anything like that.
