"as for as I know thc miners and Elshoff got along Ok up until the strike in 1937, Thore wor: no strikes or close-downs during this tine. "I did not hoar of any lebor spios at !‘inc "B" prior to the striko. — "8 far as I could sce therc was no difforence in the wage scale of the tyo unions beforo tho strike in 1937, I did not know of any spies working at iine "B" ond I did not know thst some men wore expelled from Pi... for being spios. I remembor on ths day of the strike my buddy sked me if Hele had seen mo about joining U.M.... I said no and he told me that Eale had asked him why he didn't change over to U.M.h. "J worked a full day at Hino "B" the day of the strike and did not sec any cars loaded short.
