vestigations No promises, threats, or consideration of any kind has
deen made to me to make this statement. I am willing if necessary to
go to court and repeat this statement beofuse it is true and agcurates
"I was working at Mine B several years before 1932. I was a
member of the United Mine ‘iofkers because I could not work at that mine
unless I was &@ mamber of the United Mine ‘forkerse In 1932 there wes
some trouble and all the men at fine 8 joined up with the Progressive Mine
Yorkerse I jcined up too at that time, and was willing and anxious to
do so. I belcnged to the Progressive Wine ‘forkera @1] the time until I
quit working at Mine B in 1941. T never had any compleints cgainst
the Progressive Mine “lorkersee. I was sttisfied in every wy with the
treatment I got from them and the way they acted. They never trhrettened
me with anything or asked me to do anything that I did not want to do.

know about the strike until they told me that the strike was one I came
up to the top and they told me that the troulbe wos about sone contract,
but I do not remomber the detnils. after the atri e I oume home and
did not go beck to the mines I did not sign any petitions

1937 I did not go backe I told the men that I would wait and see if they
actually did stay there before I went bioke I had a job with the UPA
so I wanted to be sure that the mino wes going to ~ork before I went back.
