Section 51, Title 18.
ur memorandum of August 25, 1948, referring to
In respect to the inquiry relating to Exhibit Noe 56,
I am reliably informed by officials of the National Labor
Relations Board that in Board elections, the ballot does
not disclose the name of the voter who cast it. Apparently,
there is no way to determine from the Board's records how
any employee actually cast his vote.
This information is ecgually applicable to the inguiry
relating to Exhibit No. 58.
In respect to the inquiry relating to Exhibit No. 54,
I am inforned that the Venbership cards referred to did
not actually come into the possession of the Board officials
but were simply exhibited to the Field Examiner who made
calculations therefrom, and the cards were returned to the
possession of the unions. Apparently, if these cards are
available at all in their original forn, they are to be
found in the unionst files.
With respect to the last paragraph of your memorandum,
I believe that all petitions addressed to the Board have
been forwarded to the Bureaus
