The request of these individuals was pot complied with by the Springfield Offices, | . The Springfield Office has now advised thet on the morning of Sep- . tember 7, 1&3, a Mr. Walter f. Day called at the Springfield Office and ' identified himself as @ partner of attorney A. &. Mitegerald ef Spriggtield, 7 Tllincis, Mr. Day advised that mr. Fitsgerald wes representing ; | Gividuals, namely, dames Hale, Frank Austin and a Mr. Buagarner. ‘Tt will be: noted that a Mr. Bumgarner was formerly an organiser for the Gnited Mins Workers of America at Mine B, Springfield, Dlinols, and was interviewed as & prospective witness in the above captioned case.
