HUNT the contents of a letter received at the Penitentiary and addressed to HISS. He stated this letter wac not delivered to HISS, but returned to the sender, H. KEITH THOMPSON, 432 Fast 82nd Street, New York City, since THOMPSON is not an author- ized correspondent. The contents of this letter are set out below: "H, KOITH THOMPSON Apt #1d 423 "East Gnd Street New York City (28), N.Y. February 27th, 1954 "Dear Mr. HISS, "We are not personally acquainted, and I suppose that it is small compensation indced for you to near from one small voice that always speaks out in your defense. I am one of those Americans who actually studied the record of proceedings in your case, all newspaper files, all periodicals and bocks pertaining thereto, ete. It was my considered opinion at the time of your conviction that you were railroaded, I am confident that you can soncday prove this - to those Americans who still dare think, and say what thoy think. And I assume that your 'mail' is probably read by all sorts of authorities, so I will reserve some of my rather choice opinions of the character of the crord that nailed you.
