Helleberg Poude ww Og ( a et SAHAM eX i wie PERJURY 4 a ESPIONAGE-R MS This memorandum is being submitted in response to yYerbal instructions of Sk NORRIS WARZENSTEBIN who received the request from‘Mr. BELMONT from the Bureau on 3-10-52. This is a joint memorandun of SA ROBERT L, ZIMMERMAN and the writer. SA ROBERT L, ZIMMERMAN and the writer interviewed CLAUDE HEACOCK, brother-in-law of LOUIS LEISMAN, et his trailer located at the Woodsdale, Trailer Camp, RD 1, State College, Pa., during the evening of 3-4=52, The writer advised HEACOCK that the FBI is interested in the activities of his brother~in-law in view of statements made by him which may have pertinence in an investigation being conducted by the FBI. In response to HEACOCK'S inquiry as to whether his brother~in-lav was in any type of trouble, the writer replied not to his kmowledge. HEACOCK made no further inquiry concerning the purpose of the interview and no additional explanation was volunteered by either agent. At no time during the interview was the subject of Communism nentioned either direetly or by inference, It is noted that HEACOCK appeared friendly toward the interviewing agents throughbut the interview, end indicated his willingness to cooperate in any way possible. He said specifically that he had had no direct contact with either his sister, GERTRUDE, or brother-in-law since approximately 1941, He did not indicate that he had any intention of contacting either for any purpose in the future, a hoe - MAR 12 1892 i 103509
