Sconsequently a Geep perturbance has coms over the yvounser
generations of today, those who vill bo the rorkers anc the
Jeaders in the rorld of tomorrow. We celteve that youth
ot everywhere, of whatever political or religious conviction,
- of whatever nationality, class or race, has 6 Guty to speak,
: openly anc loudly, of its anxiety, its fear end indi tion.
We believe that Youth is forced to do so by its own direct
_~ ‘Gnterests as well es by the nobler demands of the soul. For
- this reason, we offer to your consideration the folloving
plen:
"mn connection with those Young People's Movements 611 over
the world, which show their sympathy with this plan, e@ week
will be fixed in the fall] of 192, during which the Young
People of the World will meet in places to be chosen #fter-
wards, anc will give utterence to their anxiety and their
earnest desire for Peace. Although we think it necessery
that at these meetings the impotence of Youth as such to
eeliver any definite jucgment or give eny eolution of detail
questions in the complicated internetional situation of our
time, should be agreed upon, yet we are certain that these
meetings may become impressive demonetrattons of that which
satire our thoughts more deeply every cay. At these meetings,
men and woven of different circles ax: groups micht be asked to
’ speak on international] questions, pactfism, etc., and furthers
more, we might try by other means to revive in the thought of
man the evils of war."

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES ON THE YOUTH MOVEMENT IN OTUER COUNTRIES
a .
LATINAMERICA
CHILE
That the young people of Latin America are guided by © new
spirit and a new concevtion of internetional fair dealing is
4llpstrated by 8 message of friendship sent by the studente of
chile to the students of Peru. When it is borne in mind thet these
‘ - two countries are aiplomeatically estranged over boundary disputes,
the epirit of the messare is all the more remarkable. It seys
eat:
in part: -
“This generation, educated in the sophistry that the -
interest of the Patria, just or not, is superior to morei
interests, cennot understenc, unfortunately, that we stuients
place peace and justice above transitory interests. Only
the warning cry of youth can clear the atmosphere and revive
the sleeping sentiments of brotherhood"
