HERBERT C. KANTOR, while NYO agents were present, SOBIE
related the same story and advised that in 1949-1950, -
when SOBLE was contacted in Paris by the Soviet superior
he refers to as JACQUES or the Professor, this Soviet
told him that after World War IL the Soviets had taken
some of the German scientists to Russia to work on Soviet _

Lewisburg while he was in an emotionally disturbed state -
end that LESTER's name came back to him after having read
in the "New York Times" that LESTER and other German -
scientists were released to the West Zone of Gemnany..-
